With Priest Pass next on my list, I traveled to visit this course on May 31 2020. Here is what I discovered.
Once I made the turn off of highway 12 onto Priest Pass road in my 2018 Nissan Maxima, I quickly started to second guess my decision as the gravel road turned really bad with deep ruts from all the water run off.
Ended up being the longest 10 miles of my life!
10 miles and 20 minutes later I finally reach the top where Priest Pass DGC is located. (Highly recommend a 4x4 type vehicle if you choose to drive Priest Pass road LOL.)
As you can see, it is a beautiful view.
I noticed some hikers taking a short break, so I approached them in hopes they might have some answers for me about the course in the area. As luck would have it, one of the hikers was also a local folfer from Helena.
He didn't know much about Priest Pass Course and told me that none of the local discers that he runs with even talks about it. He was surprised that there was even a course up here. lol
So based off the information I got online, I proceeded to where hole 1 should be located.
Guess what, I found hole 1!!!
This picture shows the tee spot for hole 1, so naturally I start walking the course to check it out.
Hole 1 continues down this road until it turns to the left. That is where I found the pin.
As you can see in the picture, the pin is some kind of wind chime.
At this point I'm thinking "Wow, this could be a pretty cool course."
So I moved on to investigate hole 2.
I think I found the tee spot for hole 2 & the picture on the right shows the spot where I think Hole 2 should be, but I had no luck finding any type of pin.
Had the same luck with Hole 3.
At this point I have decided if I want to add this course to Disc Golf Course Tours I am going to need a local guide. But based on the information the hiker gave me, I have to wonder if this course is even playable.
Come to find out, based on the information I have acquired from fellow discers on Facebook, it's not playable due to the fires from a few years back.
However, if this information is wrong and you have details you would like to share about this course, please feel free to post a comment below. I am also willing to meet someone to guild me through this course if they are willing, until then this course will be listed as "Inactive Courses Listed Online"
